birdmania
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010Birdmania, the successor to Meowmania, is now online..
Since I found that someone made a Facebook page for Meowmania, it’s on whole other level. The photo album is amazing.
An image Yayu took of me makes it as a representative image of a project that he’s doing called “Laptopogram”. “This is a photographic print made by briefly exposing photosensitive paper to the light from a laptop screen and then developing the paper. No camera needed. The creator calls prints like these Laptopograms. Here’s the code for the “shutter”:
#!/bin/sh
vbetool dpms on ; sleep 2.0; sudo vbetool dpms off
Ideas for further exploration: make prints of screen-specific subjects (desktop, web sites, email inbox, etc.) and hi-res wallet-sized prints using the iPhone.”

The old domain tinyaccidents.com expired and I’ve neglected it. I made a new subdomain, and also fixed up the database (procrastination makes things seem much harder than they are; I’m surprised how simple it actually was). You can now check it out at: http://tinyaccidents.jqln.org
